Aru's Charity Run

Mid-term is approaching, so before facing the arduous pile of questionnaire, I serves in myself for some charitable work. This might sound silly, but I do believes in karma *chuckle*. And since Aru was lack of assistance for the weekend, he so requested few of us commit in the sympathetic event. The main concern and objective was to allow us to participate and exhibit the generous ethical representing the whole law student in Inti. Unfortunately only 3 person(me, Ang and Jojo) was available for the charity drive. Nevertheless, the rest had very much contribute some cash or necessity for the fortuneless family. The family had to rear a 30 years old crippled girl who carried the one-of-a-kind disorder ever since childhood. Public were compassionate for the family after the press report on SinChew. Few thousand of cash are donated through Mr Aru, my tort law lecturer, as well as ADUN for Rahang. The church had also donated some electronic appliance. Of cause, I wasn't just go there to show how tenderness I was *giggle*, me and Jerry both give away some of our old clothing and necessity. Aru was a great person indeed, the devotion towards the people, the distress and support for the poverty, he is in his 65 now, yet, the spirit to serve never dead, and he indeed deserve the respect and veneration. It would be the constituency loss if Aru would have be deprived of the next election(touch wood). Now back to the scene, two Chinese reporter from SinChew daily was hit up for another press report. Each of us was interviewed, and I was very awkward during that session, but lucky the fella was not interested in taking my photo(I know I'm not good looking). As you can see below, I've taken some picture on the condition of the house, Jojo was so compassionate after seeing it that she almost weep out, but for me, I've seen family in worser condition, it's appreciable that they have house and shelter. The huddle took around an hour, following we went for a deepavali visit in Aru colleague's house. Yeah the house was not luxurious, but it's neat and well-ordered with customary Indian style decoration, serve with scrumptious cuisine and snack. The housewife are very courteous and friendly as well. To sum it all, I would probably express some acknowledgment for Mr Aru for bringing us to such an experience. Nevertheless, serving for the poverty or ills should be obligated as the member of the citizen. What if you're in their position and without any aids, try to think about it=).

Lagal Career Convention

Ang had follow me along so I would have a companion during the trip, since most of my classmate are not going to take part regarding that most of the firm that join the conference are located in KL area. And yes that is the only issue holding me back, still I linger on with the trip. Not much student had participate, most of them are first year student, and thanks to this, I had the chance to associate with my fellow junior and colleague. The conference started around 9:30, and we are right on time. For the first few session there's talk of from the Bar Council, where student may get the idea of what is BC and what require for the admission to the Bar. As for me, I was busy searching and query on every law firm seeking vacancy for my internship. Few renowned law firm have participated in, e.g Shook Lin & It's my 5th semester in the law course, and I had not at any time engaged myself in legal learning employment or practice. That goes the same with most of my classmates. And with Mr Priya around to keep urging us to obtain our attachment letter in order to acquire recommendation from lecture in University application, I got no choice but to start seeking for a convenient firm. And it so coincidence that there will be a Legal Career Conference on the week itself, the venue was University of Malaya Law Faculty. Without much hesitation, I invite AngBok, Thomas Phillip, Michael Chai & Co, Albar & Partner, Sreenevasan Young, Azman Davidson & Co etc. And what surprised me is that even auditor firm had participated in like KPMG, one of the biggest accountancy firm in Malaysia. I've enjoyed the talk from Thomas Philip and Shook Lin, Thomas Philip is a firm whereby they only major in litigation, and they only focuses exclusively on dispute resolution and is geared to become the foremost litigation firm in Malaysia. They also invite some Human Rights NGO. It's Concurring that I was able to bump into Evelyn, my form 6 friend who is currently doing her 2nd year law in UM. Hereinafter, we invite Marisa to come over to Law Faculty to have some chat. Evelyn was doing well, and from the way I notice, Evelyn would more likely enter conveyancing or corporate field, who would prefer to be low profile, and speaking of corporate, yea I have a wild dream on it. Before the leave, we drop by to the cafe near Law Faculty to have some beverage. And later following lunch counter at McDonald. Well that's how the Conference go, meeting the learned lawyer, experience how a chambering student or fresh legal practitioner would have require. Indeed it's worthwhile.

Enchanting Raya Season

After the whole month of hard-time fasting, Muslim finally able to thrill in the celebration of the new Hari Raya. Which mark an end to Ramadan month of every year. Along with the prodigious national Jubilee, my college had taken a week of holidays. Yet the burdened up coming mid-term exam and abundant undone revision had broach this dilemma of whether should I go home or not. And the subject of demanding bus ticket had screwed all my plan, by the time I've tried to book for ticket, all are sold, and flight was not available in economical price by the moment. Without any alternative, I have to hold back on this thought. But out of nowhere, Ang just bump into me and offered me a free ride back to Penang, in which, it may be a solution to all my pickle. I was extremely gratefully that moment. We went back together to Penang where Ang's parent settled. And I have to conduct myself properly throughout the stay despite the decent family. The bond of kinship amongst the members are well-built, even the relative engaged themself well in the others matter. The gramp would drop by for the weekend and the whole group of family member would went for a feast. The family are filled with future profession like doctor and accountant, and don't mention Ang(lawyer) himself. So I suppose that education has something to do on families relationship, might be insignificant, but this rationale might actually be real. On the fact that in contrast, I've seen family which are poorly educated, they are more keen to possess the trait of being self-centred and egoistic. Nevertheless, that just what I've regarded through my observation. Now going back to the Penang stay, we invited Meyven( a colleague which move to Penang for her further law degree) for dinner and then went on the Batu Feringgi for a stroll. The weather was not helping at all, again another wringing-wet experience I could say. Not a big deal for a big boy like us, but I was surprise Meyven never complain further about the downpour *chuckle*. Well that's about my journal back to Langkawi. Well as usual nothing much has changed back in my home. So before the day I went back to Nilai, I have this thought of having an informal reunion with my fellow form 6 classmates. And since I didn't have any transit to carry me from jetty to the bus station, and by chance Marisa was accessible and free, I've called her out to manage the whole gathering. And we've decide to bob up to the newest Old Town Cafe just located just beside the new shop lot beside Keat Hwa. The attendance was well...fair...around 8 to 9 of us, since most of them had not came back for holidays for the raya. Probably facing the same difficulty as mine. We have our twaddle, everyone was doing great, Marisa was doing her 2nd year dental course in UM, Ying Wei is doing her pharmacy as well, the rest also taking up different profession respectively. After the chatter, we went on to bowling at Pacific Mall. Then the gang sent me to the bus company around 11 before I actually go back to KL. It was such excrucaiting experience on the bus as I've forgotten to bring my jacket, and the air conditioner was extremely cold, I guess my miscount messed up my life. The bus went all the way to Genting to release some passenger before proceed to KL, and that's how my wholly 3 hours of time are wasted. Still I manage to get to campus in the afternoon, and yes the traffic was terrible. That's all about how my Raya journey begin and end, and now, time to persist on striving for the Mid-term exam.

A Whole New Sem

My Sem break had finally came to an end, more challenges and much fatigue endeavor to be accomplished. But of cause for the first week, I wasn't engaged much on my academic. I was the last of my class to get myself enrolled, the payment was made later as well on the fact that I mistakenly interpreted my schedule and book my flight for the wrong date, I wasn't really much out of line. I got surprised for the first class, our good old Tort lecturer Mr. Aru, brought some champagne to share for the whole class, I wasn't expecting any bash or birthday. And as I predicted, it was an settlement as what Mr. Aru had concluded last sem, a contract between us and him. This little informal contract provide that it is a breach for failed to attend for class without medical cert and an average of score that student must achieve for the exam is 60 and above as the covenant. The whole class was amused, yet pressure are sensed at the same time. This could be his idea of motivation or inspiration for us to face the battle, and yeah, this indeed stimulate me for that while. That's about all, there's not much happening for the weekday. Yesterday, Jonathan, who is a senior of mine that gonna fly off this month, came over to my room and overnight after settled his Visa application. That night we occupied ourself 3 to 4 hours of poker till 3 a.m with Chia Chee who is also from Jon's batch. The next day we accompany Ang to settle his fees payment at the bank then proceed to midvalley. The main objective for me to be there with them was to get myself a new swimming goggle, as the previous goggle I use was also borrow from a senior. Then I get a hair cut at Acut Above Saloon, I wasn't much satisfied for the service due to the hair was shorten than what I've expected from my stylist. Then again, I guess it's no harm to try on new style. The quick stroll with the seniors end soon, and this could be the only farewell event we had, and the last occasion I could seen them for this two years. Again, I had to take the congested KTM overflowing with tons of peoples, and don't mention it's Ramadhan or so called the fasting season, Muslim tend to go back home for dinner after 7. So I choose to catch the KTM earlier around 6, but then, the hassle doesn't make much of different, still I gotta wait for the 2nd turn before I could hop on the KTM. And by the time the 2nd train had come, I don't even have to move any step to enter the train, the crowd behind me will push the whole row inside jockey themselves for available space, yet another discomfort experience of mine. It take around 20 min before the misery end, all of us were suffocating, I even get a hard time drawing out my phone from the pocket. But something I've observe which bring some contentment on me, out of the chaotic, a harmonic scene of an old fellow with songkok sharing his "buah kurma" with the other Muslim to satiate their hunger temporary for the long journey ahead. Kurma is a dates-like fruit which Muslim enjoy during this time. Well we couldn't see much of the scene nowadays, the ethical of sharing and the virtuous of caring for each other had lessen. We've been brought up by a sophisticated society, but I still believe in the authentic nature of human's heart, where these fundamental value lies in every one of us. Selamat berpuasa everyone =)

Penang Little Excursion

Day after day, I've been attached myself to my laptop for the whole break, the day was dull, nothing could stir up my nerve. with Ang's inducement accompanied by my old buddy Hau who wanted to go Penang for college registration, I figure it wouldn't be much trouble for me to swing by Penang for the week. Again, the weather was horrible, to avoid any risk of monstrous wave arising from the bad weather, our trip was delayed. I guess the weather indicating something disastrous was about to happen. And yes, losing my beloved phone is a terrible disaster! I can't believe how careless I was, I belief the weather got something to do with it. If it wasn't be for the weather, I wouldn't have get myself wet back in the island and incur this fever, which cause me involuntarily left my phone on the cab after replying some text. Nevertheless, I got no one to blame but myself, the attempt to go back to the taxi station and search for the taxi was a failure, it was the last cruise and the ramble from bus station to the jetty wasted my 30 bucks,a bad day after all. We reached Penang about 11p.m. The weather wasn't as awful. We stay overnight at my friend's apartment, Heap Loon which also familiarly know as "white hair" by virtue of having a one of the kind nature white strand hair above his forehead, and believe me, it's real! The frantic rip-roaring does paid off for the next day. God given me the opportunity to brought together with someone special to me since junior high, the first person I ever had a crush for. Yeah it's been awhile indeed, a little amusing tale of mine. The tenderness and sensation somehow still able to reminisce, the feeling of pure and unadulterated of her still unchanged, but what for me to say, this could be the first time I ever had a chance to came out with her together*chuckle*. We had our dinner in Sushi King, and I've unwittingly ordered Udon Noodle set, something that I'd not prefer for dinner. An old saying of fools fall in love, yeah I guess I'm kinda get the idea. Our conversation was superficial, just a few how are you and what do you do. Awkwardness still fills the air, no doubt, I wouldn't wanna make some dissent statement or displease her. Spite of that, I'm glad she's willing to fork out some time for meal. We didn't manage to thrill in for a movie together as her landlady prohibit them from being out for too late, its for their best interest anyway so I would assert on it. That's about all in gurney plaza. Following by pampering ourself in a cyber cafe near to my friend's apartment, the Infinity. Customer are attracted by their nominal rate of 1 buck per hour after 12 a.m. We spend most of the night there gaming. We indeed have a great time there, we spend most of the time playing DOTA, a custom game of Warcraft III, a popular game among youth this days. Through my observation, I realize that most "gosu" or "professional" player can be easily seen during the midnight, and that give some challenge for me and my friend. For the few following day, we visited Queensbay Mall, the largest mall in Penang, where I'd bought a Quiksilver sandal with an offered price. We also visited the T-bowl Restaurant, an antic restaurant finished with cunning and fancy toilet equipment. The meal was serve in a mini toilet bowl as well! Can you imagine that? If you notice, my bowl of chicken cheese baked rice look sort of like a pile of sticky poo on the bowl!*guffaw* Imagine you're having your meal and looking at your friend digging sticky cheese out of a mini toilet bowl, would you loss your appetite? It's amazing what people could think of these day. That about all for my Penang trip, It was delighted, I'll be looking forward for my next visit.

An Celebrating Visit

My episode of life has not updated for the past few weeks, while many occurrence had indeed come and go. From having a dazzled trip back from KL to Langkawi till the day I'm in Penang which is now. Last week senior came by to Langkawi as their last jubilee before they departure to UK, the whole tour lasted for 3 days. Of cause I'll be their tour guide *grin*. Well the first day wasn't that welcoming, the weather was terrible as it was raining season at the moment, but the rain wasn't last for too long, so we manage to drop over to the bird park and dwell on with those feathered creature. The species was reduced if it was to compare to my last visit previously. We're fortunate that the weather for following day was practically fine with slight raindrop. I was asked to stay with them in a chalet located at Pantai Cenang for the whole trip.I find the price was reasonable, they charge extra 10 buck per night for additional bed given, so it wouldn't harm for me to stay with them so that it would be more convenient when they need assist or any inquiry as they're stranger, while as a native, I would serve well for being familiar on the neighborhood. don't mention the local cuisine *grin*. For the 1st night we went for seafood at lobster village which took us half an hour trip to get there from the chalet as both located at different corner of the island. My fellow senior ordered some crabs and fish, savory is was, but the best part was yet to come. The total bill for the food cost us 180 bucks! fortunately the owner's son was a friend of mine and was on duty to take care of the restaurant at the moment so we get an offer of 20% discount for the food. We're going dutch for the bill, I'm not excluded. After the meal we went back and pampered ourself with some light liquor and snack, along with a mini cards game before dozing off. we're blessed that the weather for 2nd day was perfectly fine since we've booked for the island hopping trip that takes approximately 2 hours, as always, the bateau would bring us to few of the famous island surrounding Langkawi, that include Tasik Dayang Bunting, where a huge lack is located in the middle of the island itself, and also known as Isle Of The Pregnant Maiden which came about from the island physical feature. Then we headed to Pulau Singa Besar, where eagle feeding is conducted, the amount of eagle having attracted was less due to the late arrival. Coming next is Pulau Beras Basah, a well-kept beach with spectacular view with its crystal clear water, calm pacific harmony of wave crashing upon the shore, but the island didn't keep us for too long, so we have to leave reluctantly soon. That's all about island hopping. At the end of the day we went on for Wan Thai, Thai theme restaurant serving varieties Thailand dishes. The service wasn't that satisfactory due to the amount of customer to be serve during that peak hour. The food was well...delicious, but our friend Ang seem to be disfavor towards spicy food, and unfortunately the food we ordered are entirely hot, the waiter had to hustle all the way to refill our drink to quench the hot inside our mouth. When the evening make the scene, the gang and I dash toward to beach and hop ourselves on the famous Banana boat, I'm not sure the exact price for the sport but it was reasonable with the current off-season. The trip was a blast, its funny how the girl react when the guy purposely drag the side tube so the boat would flip the main tube and makes the whole boat tumble. Ang failed for his first attempt trying to bamboozle on the ladies and the fella end up take a header himself*guffaw*, he just made a fool of himself. Turning to an edge, the boat driver tried to maneuver over a tortuous position so we could tumble in the middle of the sea, initially his attempt was a blunder as the girl trying hard to tactics to the different corner to maintain the stability, but when it come to naughty by the guy include me, the boat nonetheless, was stumbled. For the last day, we headed on to Oriental Village and take a ride on the renown cable car, the weather seem to favored us for the morning, but its wasn't as perfect. The sky was filled with heavy mist, so most of the fascinate scenery was not visible, following a drizzle when we're on our way back. We're unable to reach for the car as the rain turn out to be more much heavier. without any alternative, coupled with the time we have to rush to the town, me and Ang haste out the rain to get hold of the car. We're completely soaked in the pouring rain, but that was a fun experience indeed, and that's bring my cold for the day after*chuckle*. Following that is the shopping session before precede back to one another's home. Delwyn bought a Versace perfume from the central town while the rest bought some liquor and chocolate from Hsin Ru, a friend who had offer better price for alcoholic beverage. That came to the end of the chapter, I wish all the best in their study in UK, live your dreams mate!

Unformalize Inheritance Paper

Its been awhile since my family had any discourse with that relative, no doubt that our relationship was not close since the death of my grandparent. Dispute takes place, misunderstanding filled the bond, the controversial never leaves amongst the 3rd and 4th sibling of my grandparent, the gap keep expanding, peace never come. Yesterday night I got a call from my mum, we had an hour conversation. From the conversation, I get to know that my mum was requested by my uncle to sign an approval for the property to be vested on his hand, since the will wrote by my grandpa was not fully complied with the rules of formalities, which is the topic I just did for my equity and trust class. So as the alternative, the lawyer needs the sibling to approve before the property can be distributed amongst my uncle as the will are no longer valid. The eldest uncle was not in the position on favoring them due to some conflict existed, so I was wondering that whether any alternative approach for solving the issue without having the sign of the siblings. Could the will possibly be validated? Well this morning I've asked Mr. Harmanhinder(our equity lecture) pertaining this issue, and his explanation was alternative choice is not possible, as the law doesn't recognize the will, the only method to persuade the court was the approval through sign by the siblings. But from what my mother has told me, the eldest uncle had inform her that his wife's brother, who is a senior lawyer mention that the 2 uncle was still able to claim for the property without the sign, but the procedure would be tedious. The lawyer graduated from King's College London and had been in collar of being Agung's legal assistant, as an experienced lawyer, definitely he would have know. So I start a bit research on the particular subject, admitted that my level of knowledge was insufficient to attempt acquainted in this respective area of law, I was unable to get any material regarding the above matter. Law on will is regulated under The Distribution Act 1997 which made some amendment out of previous Distribution Act 1958. I couldn't get any relevant reference after the inquiring and searching. Suppose if we're currently in UK position, the 9 Will Act 1837 would be applied, then it would be easy to solve the matter, where fundamentally the will only abide by formalities to take effect. I'll be glad if the matter can be resolve earlier, and the tie could be untangle.

Beginning of New Sem Break

Finally, from all the hectic and exhausted weeks filled with presentation and test, all of this has come to the end, well, for temporary that is. Nevertheless, I'd hereby officially declare the beginning of a new holiday season for August term, cheers! And for the initiation, me, Vincent and Wei Lun went on again to Midvalley GSC to enjoy the recent showing movies G.I.Joe and On His Majesty's Secret Service. we setting out from campus around 12 a.m, then take the KTM about 12:30 a.m. FYI, this is the worse experience I ever had on taking the Komuter. The air conditioner on our segment was not working after the 15 minutes of our trip, the whole compartment was ovenlike, we can feel every single sweat dropping off the chin. And not forgiving that I was wearing one of my favorite tee at that moment. It bother me till I even attempt to get off the Komuter and search for any alternate transportation. Nevertheless I was trained to withstand against heat over working under the sun with my dad. Its peculiar that how relief we are after got out from being "baked". Since it was weekend, so its doubtless on the numbers of people drop over for some shopping and nibbling. As a result, we have to take the unpleasantly long queue for the tickets. The 1st movie we took was On His Majesty's Secret Service, a Cantonese picture acted by Louis Koo. I don't find the movie as humorous as what I expected out from what my friend narrated, its filled with incongruous joke that doesn't make much sense. Follow up by accompany Vincent on his jean's hunt at the ROMP. And at about 5p.m, the movie that I have promised to watch with Uma for the last few days yet I have not perform it, G.I.Joe. I felt sorry for Uma but I was not able to make it that time due to some imperative task to be accomplish. The movie was gratifying, much better if it was to be compare to the 1st movie we took in the day. The action filled picture was marvelous, the movie 1st time caught my attention was during when I was watching transformer 2, through the pre-showing publishing of the advertisement and movie's trailer. And as I awaited, the top of my preference list, was worth for my 12 buck for the weekend. The movie are derived from the toy line and comic which was the origin of G.I.Joe that exist since 1964 as one of the 1st "action figure" after the universal Barbie Doll for girls. The plot was predictable, so I wouldn't be commend much on it. Nevertheless the effect was awesome, with the kungfu fighting and ninja slicing, no wonder that a non-grown up brat like me would stuck on *cackle*. Back of that, we proceed on accompany Vincent to shop for some souvenir for his friend back at his hometown, Sarawak that is. Its amazing how guys could spend on girl's accessories for more than 3 hours, we went every corner of Midvalley to search for most felicitous ornament, from rings to necklaces. Wei Lun and my role was to be the beauty advisor for Vincent who had dilemma in choosing what to gift and who to gift. And finally, he manage to found 2 cunning necklace from Giordano jewellery that cost him more than 100 bucks. That doesn't mean that I myself didn't spend a single cent. I've spot a series of rings come in 3 as a set which cost only about 40 bucks, the ring was neat and I was thinking that it would be a good idea if I bought it for my brothers. Vincent cut out my hesitation by handout a RM50 note. But why bother, it could be a limited ring that I would regret if I missed out. End up I spend the note and put myself in a worse debtor position. I called the them the "Ring of Brotherhood"! sounds pathetic right? Guess its better off I didn't nicknamed it.

Inquest on Teoh's Case

An inquest was held from 29 July to 12 August to investigate the mystery death of Teoh as stated on The Star last week. Teoh Beng Hock, as most of us would be particular, a political secretary of Seri Kembangan assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah, that was found death on roof of the five storey building next door to the Plaza Masalam where he was taken to in for questioning by the MACC(Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission) on 16th July at its 14th floor office. The matter of questioning or "interrogation" was over alleged misuse of funds by state executive councillors that merely worth not more than RM2k, and the questioning lasted for 8 hours before Teoh was being discharge and later was found death. Teoh's belonging including his mobile phone was kept away by the MACC before he was discharged even though he was just a witness. That's about all the brief of Teoh's case, now come back to the inquest, I agreed on what Mr. Aru, our tort lecturer told us during the class, that a Royal Commission must be appointed rather than conducting an inquest. Teoh's case, which is classified as "sudden death", would not be solve by merely bringing up the witness for question in the court. The 77 witness including 28 MACC officers are brought in by the police. Not that I was being biased, but many incidents happened on how the police are to be called as corrupted or crooked. The integrity for the cops has diminished. E.g the case of Kugan on early 2009, who died after interrogated in the police custody for car theft. So being rational, the Royal Commission can cover wider scope that are contrast to inquest limitation, this may well include the finding of circumstances surrounding Teoh's death, protocol, standard regulating procedure etc. MACC carried the name as an important institution must be questioned as this may clear their name conjointly. Royal Commission which consist of senior member with expertise are more likely to solve the matter in a highly-accountable and transparent manner. Furthermore, Royal Commission are not governed by the rules of criminal procedure and hence investigation can be done efficiently without intrusion. Lastly by allowing Royal Commission to preside over the matter, the public will be more assured and hence not losing their faith toward MACC. I would strongly exhort that Royal Commission be establish on Teoh's case.

PC Fair

Once more, the annual event where most gadget or IT enthusiast have been waiting for has come into the city, the PIKOM PC fair. The event was held from 31st July to 2nd of August, venue KLCC. While most think that its the most appropriate occasion to look out for gizmo, computer's part and accessories, the reality was otherwise, propaganda on the mark down of the price was just another financial strategy, and what matter concerned by most of the consumer would be the price, but the fact that PC Fair doesn't come with bargaining price, if it was to be compare with Low Yat Plaza, PC Fair is one of the method to clear the old stock available. Nevertheless, I still find the ramble was worth it. It wasn't surprise that nothing was necessary for me to spend on the day, still I've came across some cheap gadget so I've bought myself a new 8GB pendrive and Logitech USB hub which cost me around 100 bucks. I went there along with my hometown old pal Seek Yan, accompanied by his colleague Betty, its been awhile since the last time we have a reunion, and this trip was entirely unplanned, it was a coincidence I bump up to my other friend informing me that Seek Yan is going too. The place was huddled with people and I was infuriated by those boorish fella that doesn't even know how to queue up. The first thing that I take notice of is the booth selling Razer products, the price are equally the same selling in Low Yat Plaza. I was thrilled when I saw the new Dell Alienware M17x, one of the high-end spec laptop that you can find in this country, the laptop cost around around 8,700 to 10,000 bucks depend on the spec. The whole fair was divided into 8 to 10 halls, each section altered by devices and manufacture. First, we enter a chamber where PC guru is located, I got small goodie as a reward by accomplished to answer two simple question of the quiz, a notebook. The main purpose for this little attraction was to obtain the particular of people and consequently promote PC guru. And here comes the hall filled with all the multiplayer online games and of cause, the attractive show girls on the moves *aroused*. We get to take some picture with those chick, and to pay the price, we're asked to register for the particular online game. Then follow by the laptop section, where Seek Yan had a good time inquiring and seeking for the replacement of his lappy since his pre-owned lappy was bestowed to his brother that currently study for matriculation. And lastly, the incentive of Altec Lansing speaker. I get so upset since I can't effort any of it on the ground that I'm still in a debtor position*sob*. Before the leave, we dig ourself into some dessert and carry on with a movie titled "The Proposal", another hilarious picture of the month. And guess what, after that we're late for the KTM and having no alternative way but to share bed with Chen Tat back at Wangsa Maju*grin*.

Huddled Treat Fair

Finally, after the whole 3 weeks of lag and high latency, I have my lappy reformat, thanks to Yong Xiang, I was able to learn and carry out the method proceeding with full installation by my own. So I sort of decide to treat him a meal that night as an acknowledgement. Speaking of treats, its been awhile I never embrace myself in any opportunity on rewarding event. I came across the Maybank Treats Fair held at Midvalley Exhibition Centre located at the top floor of Midvalley, the place was jam-packed with peoples moving in and out. Before actually having entered the exhibition centre, thanks to Xiang influence for the promotion, I was actually being induced to bought a polo tee which cost me hundred buck when I'm in the position of almost being bankrupt*sniff*. But its worth the price with the recent mega sales price. The tee looks nice on me if I could have work out more often. So come back to the Treats Fair, this redemption frenzy was held from 23 to 26, a big opportunities for fellow cardholder to redeem their favorable reward using TreatsPoints. We entered the household property section, then follow by random goods and other product. They also having promotion on skin care, optometric, water refinement etc services. Some cool gadget like robomop are displayed and demonstrated as well. While we're hassle ourself out of the congested pathway, a young lady asked us to choose and pick out a piece of cardboard out of the 5 as some sort of lucky draw, with full of curiosity, I was reluctant, but Yong Xiang feels that its no harm to give it a try. He acquire a 3 days 2 nights trip to Jakarta stated on the card as a voucher, nevertheless, I'm still doubt about that when she mention its FOC, I never believe in any freebies. Xiang exchanged the voucher to local trip since we're both financially deflated. And as I expected, they require us to participate and engross on their talk before we are entitle to the voucher. They are conducting on a survey and giving out a different method of expanding their company's capital, member that acquire share are granted to have an agreed on benefit which is tour for holidays for 8 days per year instead of getting dividend from the company earning, its a redeemable share. Few term or pre-requisite are to be comply before we can buy the share, the share are distributed according to package, for student, the minimum budget require is 11,000 ringgit, while other than student its 21,000. But during that only day they offer us 8,500 ringgit for student package and around 18,000 ringgit for the rest. Don't get the idea wrong, it means that u are entitle to 11,000 ringgit if you bought the share at 8.500 ringgit on the day itself, doesn't that just sound tempting? The company own Taylor International University College, surprisingly they also subsidize themselve to vacation and tour field. Something attract me is that their company had appointed themself trustee company which is under the government regulation, which mean if the company went into liquidation, member will not have to worry about their money went astray as unsecured debt. Our approach to the method was an agreeable one, although they failed to persuaded us to buy any of their share. Nonetheless, as promised, we're still entitled for the 3 days 2 nights trip, still was wondering what have we done to deserve this little honor for the weekend. And guess what, by the next day I realize we do deserve it, its karma.*smirk*

Farewell My Friend

Dedication to Alexandra
Come to recall it, its been more than half a year Alexandra has been around with us. Her decision to leave for UK for her second year brought bitterness yet worth to cheer by watching her pursuing the same goal on the English region earlier. I was sort of envy on such an acquisition, then again, we are glad to see her attain what she always wanted. We still remember during the 1st day that we ever seen that girl, she was a girl with a curly auburn hair who are not really considerately associated. Her face was dull and plain most of the time. Still that was previously before we actually approach and get to know her. She was a student which had to repeat her study due to her own major personal problem. Nevertheless she did not admit her defeat and persisting on achieving what she urge for. Well her commitment do trigger me to put more effort, she was an estimable person indeed. As the matter of fact she could be very cuddly and chummy if you were close to her. We spend most time having conversation on gossips and experience/aspiration of life, our dialogue can be much profound if I ought to admit. And most of all, we got the common fondness of brandy apparel! Its ridiculous to see a big guy like me could even care for the subject, but to be frank I was much observable of being a shopaholic since I've came to KL this municipal. And she would prefer hanging out with Uma which previously is one of our classmate too. They both got a lot of common interest and passion on assisting our Legal Skill lecturer Harpajan. She had a pleasantly good temper, I shall remember her cool and patience while teaching/guiding us whenever I've accounted some difficulty. Its been nice knowing her, great things happen because there's you around =).

The Farewell Party
Ok back to our good friend Alex, she had decide to do her 2nd year law degree in University of Northumbria, Newcastle, UK and will be taken her flight by next month. So before the adios, she had invited us for a small party at her condominium located just next KLCC, the MARC Residential. Even though its a walking distance to KLCC, but the traffic was terrible when we reached KLCC, but with Chin Hian as the driver, the word lost never came across our head, it just a matter of time before we arrive at the destination. Her sister was around with few of her course mate, and FYI, her sister is a doctor-to-be who is taking her MBBS at Moscow currently, she is doing her 3rd year at the moment, which again makes me feel bad thinking back about my studies. I was initially a science stream student had an ambitious desire of being a doctor myself, guess that doesnt turn out well, still I'm pursuing a professional courses. Back to the party, Alex had arranged a great dinner with barbecue chicken wings, grilled lamb chop, sushi and etc. The food are prepared by the maid while we're hanging around at KLCC mall. Its worth a tease that we just bought her farewell present during that time itself, however, the present bought was one-of-a-kind, its an electronic mini ferris wheel that cost us around 130 buck, picture will be shown at the end of post. Still it seem to be lack of sincerity by buying a gift last minutes*sniggle*. The gathering wasn't last too long, the idea of getting myself buoyant in the pool was unsuccessful due the insufficient time. Just before we heading back, Alex bring out to visit her house. The house was small but complete with most necessary facilities, it cost around 0.6 mil ringgit just for the condo alone unfurnished. For the sake of being able to catch the last KTM back to Nilai, the rest of us have to leave before ten o'clock. Speaking of KTM, I was waiting Bukit Jalil KTM station waiting Yong Xiang to fetch me off to his home, and whats unfortunate is that my message was delayed for half an hour when it was received by Yong Xiang, I was afraid that I have to sleep on the street, but in the end I was being "rescued". So to wind up, the gathering was a memorable moment indeed, we get to spend more time on chitchatting and understand each other more while dining on the delicacy. I personally feel that our class should organize more of this occasion which will makes us feel more treasure thereafter we leave. We shall pray for you Alexandra.
Will be uploading more pic by the weekend, below are some:

A Red Carpet Affair

A very weary yet significant weekend I had been through. On 17th night was an annual prom night held by ACCA/CAT students of the Sunway University College, and thanks to Yong Xiang I was able to get a chance to revel in this affluent little banquet. I was broke for the last few weeks due to the recent Mega Sale, which I've bought some casual tee in a discounted price, at 1st I was not really inspired by this fancy event when I was initially invited by Yong Xiang. But nevertheless its a once in a lifetime chance given. So without further contemplation, I was affirmed.
The ticket cost RM85 which can be regard as cheap since the venue is Sunway Resort which is one of the deluxe hotel in KL. Ok so speaking of this high-class resort, it takes us more than 20 minutes to get a parking slot near Sunway Pyramid. Chin Hian was the driver, and not that I try to boast, but I feel rewarding for my own persuasive skill, he's one of the most hardheaded friend that I have, and it was very wise for me by trying to approach his gf before actually asking him *grin*. Since there was slot available for a couple with just RM100, so I figure that it might be great idea to invite them since the gf, Francoise has long desired for such an extravagant occasion. In advance we went to Sunway Pyramid to let ourself look tidy. Francoise had her hair set, and makeup/foundation provided with fake eyelashes which cost only around RM50. I got my hair washed and dried and cost me 8 buck...I wasn't surprise that the way they set the hair was ordinary. The price was only offered by A Cut Above Academy, not the Saloon. We are serve by most trainee, so in a harsh way, we can say that we're asked to pay for ourself being experimented. The Saloon would cost RM85 for washing and setting the hair alone, and they will provide your very own stylist which they had familiar with your hair and know what style satisfy you. Now go back to the title, the Ball start around 8:30p.m, which late 1 hour from what had stated. Well, no surprise, we're Malaysian. Me and Chin Hian was late if according to the ideal schedule due to the time consumed during the makeup, however we manage to reach before the opening ceremony. I was surprised when I heard the voice of the emcee, it was very much familiar to me back on those day where my life was only radio and cassette. It was JJ from Hitz.fm. I could not recognize his face since my seat was way too far from the stage and nothing was really clear at that moment. Indeed he had what it takes to be a great comedian. What caught my 1st attention was his special giggling, which I find it pathetic yet amusing. The event went on with eight to ten course dinner, I wasn't sure about the amount, but the food is savory, its better compare the last prom I had attended, and the side dishes are as good. The waiters was very friendly and efficient, each plate are replaced after each meal course is served. After this grand event, we proceed to Euphoria Aka Ministry of Sound. It is the only non-smoking club we may find in the KL vicinity, located just beside the Sunway Resort. There is 3 hall in the club, but since its my 1st time, so we stick around in the main hall, where only techno music is put on. We only drinks beer due to the current economic downturn and my soon to be vacant wallet. We went home around 2a.m in the morning and had our slumber after 3a.m. It was exhausting indeed, guess from here I can see my aging progressively, maybe I should have consult a doctor on progeria *chuckle*

Inti Law Awareness Week

Law Awareness Week is practice event held annually by Inti-UC Law Society which the objective is to develop an knowledge on the law field for the student in public by holding a 3 days of exhibition and talk. It recall me back during the 1st sem I entered Inti, where opportunity was given for the new student to take part in this small yet acquainted event. basically the theme still hasn't changed much from the previous year, which mainly concern on human right. but there is a slight improvement from my observation which is that more NGO had willing to fork out their time to provide support on the event, some of the NGO is Sisters in Islam, SUARAM , SUHAKAM, Amnesty International, Police and Prison. Weapon and picture are displayed, and the police officer very eager to provide additional information and demonstrated on how it would be like in the real life for those in custody. And I was being clarify about the myth that the cane used for caning(rotan) was soaked in horse's pee, while the truth is that they soaked the tips only into bleach or water to ensure sanitary condition oh the whip/cane as well to dealt the maximize pain to the subject's buttock. An informal yet terrific talk was delivered by Edmund Bon Tai Soon (Chairperson of Bar Council's Constitutional Law Committee) which he was well-known after being the defendant lawyer of Anwar sodomizing case. During his talk, he stressed more on the law of public interest, and claimed that this legal field was much demanding recently along with the establishment of NGO Human Right body. He also indicated that many had left the legal aids service just because the price offered was not appealing and neglected on public's need on lawyer. So to wrap things up, Law Awareness Week had seem to did their best be to accomplish its objective, by embedding great virtue and additional knowledge to new generation of legal profession.

Advocacy In The Mini Moot Court

Alright this little dramatize advocacy was conducted by Legal Skill lecturer Harpajan as one of the way to practice and experience before we embark ourself to the actual world of being a real legal practitioner. To allow us to really catch how advocacy is like in advance, we're given the chance by our lecturer to play part in one of my senior advocacy today! I was so excited when I was requested by Harpy to assist on the advocacy. And surprisingly I was given the role to pretense as the defendant maybe on the basic that I look like a criminal? my defendant lawyer was international student from Nigeria while my prosecutor was my fellow learned friend Wei Joe, well there is lack of formalities compare what we will be doing later in real life.
I was called upon to give oath and answer some question after the witness questioning session was over. I came out with a scheme of trying to act as an illiterate poor fella who had difficulty in pronouncing English phrases. But that wasn't go too well since there is international student around which I can't possibly mess up with. Mr. Harpajan just chuckled when I initially tried to carry out the little humor.
As to sum up, skill like presentation of evidence, relevance, hearsay, expert evidence and the admissibility of evidence was thoroughly demonstrated, student who mastered will be given a good grade for their legal skill and I find that the most essential skill needed by student is the ability to communicate with the jurors and persuasive presentation. I'm looking forward for my very own advocacy test which will be fall on the next 2 semester.

Ear Piercing Experience

Alright this whole wacky idea of going for an outing was planned by my fellow classmate, I was not actually in the mood to go out due to insufficient slumber yesterday, but what the heck, since this could be one of the few occasion where I can have some fun with the bunch. As usual we went to Mid Valley which, amusingly that also, took us almost half and hour to decide. And guess what? I was surprise when both Pei Si and Li Sien had the common intention and objective to be at the mall, that is, piercing. Which, I had planned quite some months ago to go for it. But the idea never really being actualize mainly considering the reliability of the store with the pain that I could bear. Later I realize that it was foolish to even think about the pain and I ought to have do it before Law Night. We spend approximately 5 hours at Mid Valley, Lawrence had met up with his fellow colleague from Sunway College and we later delighted ourself with some movie, and after that we went and feast in a Japanese restaurant particular the Kiku Zakura. Its a bit pricey compare Sushi King but the food is much preferred in the sense of freshness and the service given. Well nothing done was scheduled. After the meal we subsequently went on to search for an earring shop which provide piercing service(not all earring shop does), and we finally found one. And now the exciting part(well...for me), I never did any piercing before and the whole thought of consequences running through my mind before that very moment, like how my dad would react if he found out and what is the impression to peoples on me(since I was brought up in quite a conservative behaviour). After Pei Si had done on both side, I decide to go ahead and do it. Well I just pierce for the left side which theoretically those who's pierce the RIGHT side is identification of being a homosexual, I got that affirmed with the store keeper. What embarrass most was that I was such a coward I let the girl experienced the pain 1st and later take it only after convinced by em(and Chin Hian would be the main accomplice). And believe me, it doesn't feel pain at all, well maybe a split second and after the ear will feel hot awhile, but really its not a big deal, they apply some medication to numb the ear beforehand. Each side cost about RM5. And that's much about how I got my 1st pierce, now, the next stop I might talk about buying earring experience LOL.
