Penang Little Excursion

Day after day, I've been attached myself to my laptop for the whole break, the day was dull, nothing could stir up my nerve. with Ang's inducement accompanied by my old buddy Hau who wanted to go Penang for college registration, I figure it wouldn't be much trouble for me to swing by Penang for the week. Again, the weather was horrible, to avoid any risk of monstrous wave arising from the bad weather, our trip was delayed. I guess the weather indicating something disastrous was about to happen. And yes, losing my beloved phone is a terrible disaster! I can't believe how careless I was, I belief the weather got something to do with it. If it wasn't be for the weather, I wouldn't have get myself wet back in the island and incur this fever, which cause me involuntarily left my phone on the cab after replying some text. Nevertheless, I got no one to blame but myself, the attempt to go back to the taxi station and search for the taxi was a failure, it was the last cruise and the ramble from bus station to the jetty wasted my 30 bucks,a bad day after all. We reached Penang about 11p.m. The weather wasn't as awful. We stay overnight at my friend's apartment, Heap Loon which also familiarly know as "white hair" by virtue of having a one of the kind nature white strand hair above his forehead, and believe me, it's real! The frantic rip-roaring does paid off for the next day. God given me the opportunity to brought together with someone special to me since junior high, the first person I ever had a crush for. Yeah it's been awhile indeed, a little amusing tale of mine. The tenderness and sensation somehow still able to reminisce, the feeling of pure and unadulterated of her still unchanged, but what for me to say, this could be the first time I ever had a chance to came out with her together*chuckle*. We had our dinner in Sushi King, and I've unwittingly ordered Udon Noodle set, something that I'd not prefer for dinner. An old saying of fools fall in love, yeah I guess I'm kinda get the idea. Our conversation was superficial, just a few how are you and what do you do. Awkwardness still fills the air, no doubt, I wouldn't wanna make some dissent statement or displease her. Spite of that, I'm glad she's willing to fork out some time for meal. We didn't manage to thrill in for a movie together as her landlady prohibit them from being out for too late, its for their best interest anyway so I would assert on it. That's about all in gurney plaza. Following by pampering ourself in a cyber cafe near to my friend's apartment, the Infinity. Customer are attracted by their nominal rate of 1 buck per hour after 12 a.m. We spend most of the night there gaming. We indeed have a great time there, we spend most of the time playing DOTA, a custom game of Warcraft III, a popular game among youth this days. Through my observation, I realize that most "gosu" or "professional" player can be easily seen during the midnight, and that give some challenge for me and my friend. For the few following day, we visited Queensbay Mall, the largest mall in Penang, where I'd bought a Quiksilver sandal with an offered price. We also visited the T-bowl Restaurant, an antic restaurant finished with cunning and fancy toilet equipment. The meal was serve in a mini toilet bowl as well! Can you imagine that? If you notice, my bowl of chicken cheese baked rice look sort of like a pile of sticky poo on the bowl!*guffaw* Imagine you're having your meal and looking at your friend digging sticky cheese out of a mini toilet bowl, would you loss your appetite? It's amazing what people could think of these day. That about all for my Penang trip, It was delighted, I'll be looking forward for my next visit.

An Celebrating Visit

My episode of life has not updated for the past few weeks, while many occurrence had indeed come and go. From having a dazzled trip back from KL to Langkawi till the day I'm in Penang which is now. Last week senior came by to Langkawi as their last jubilee before they departure to UK, the whole tour lasted for 3 days. Of cause I'll be their tour guide *grin*. Well the first day wasn't that welcoming, the weather was terrible as it was raining season at the moment, but the rain wasn't last for too long, so we manage to drop over to the bird park and dwell on with those feathered creature. The species was reduced if it was to compare to my last visit previously. We're fortunate that the weather for following day was practically fine with slight raindrop. I was asked to stay with them in a chalet located at Pantai Cenang for the whole trip.I find the price was reasonable, they charge extra 10 buck per night for additional bed given, so it wouldn't harm for me to stay with them so that it would be more convenient when they need assist or any inquiry as they're stranger, while as a native, I would serve well for being familiar on the neighborhood. don't mention the local cuisine *grin*. For the 1st night we went for seafood at lobster village which took us half an hour trip to get there from the chalet as both located at different corner of the island. My fellow senior ordered some crabs and fish, savory is was, but the best part was yet to come. The total bill for the food cost us 180 bucks! fortunately the owner's son was a friend of mine and was on duty to take care of the restaurant at the moment so we get an offer of 20% discount for the food. We're going dutch for the bill, I'm not excluded. After the meal we went back and pampered ourself with some light liquor and snack, along with a mini cards game before dozing off. we're blessed that the weather for 2nd day was perfectly fine since we've booked for the island hopping trip that takes approximately 2 hours, as always, the bateau would bring us to few of the famous island surrounding Langkawi, that include Tasik Dayang Bunting, where a huge lack is located in the middle of the island itself, and also known as Isle Of The Pregnant Maiden which came about from the island physical feature. Then we headed to Pulau Singa Besar, where eagle feeding is conducted, the amount of eagle having attracted was less due to the late arrival. Coming next is Pulau Beras Basah, a well-kept beach with spectacular view with its crystal clear water, calm pacific harmony of wave crashing upon the shore, but the island didn't keep us for too long, so we have to leave reluctantly soon. That's all about island hopping. At the end of the day we went on for Wan Thai, Thai theme restaurant serving varieties Thailand dishes. The service wasn't that satisfactory due to the amount of customer to be serve during that peak hour. The food was well...delicious, but our friend Ang seem to be disfavor towards spicy food, and unfortunately the food we ordered are entirely hot, the waiter had to hustle all the way to refill our drink to quench the hot inside our mouth. When the evening make the scene, the gang and I dash toward to beach and hop ourselves on the famous Banana boat, I'm not sure the exact price for the sport but it was reasonable with the current off-season. The trip was a blast, its funny how the girl react when the guy purposely drag the side tube so the boat would flip the main tube and makes the whole boat tumble. Ang failed for his first attempt trying to bamboozle on the ladies and the fella end up take a header himself*guffaw*, he just made a fool of himself. Turning to an edge, the boat driver tried to maneuver over a tortuous position so we could tumble in the middle of the sea, initially his attempt was a blunder as the girl trying hard to tactics to the different corner to maintain the stability, but when it come to naughty by the guy include me, the boat nonetheless, was stumbled. For the last day, we headed on to Oriental Village and take a ride on the renown cable car, the weather seem to favored us for the morning, but its wasn't as perfect. The sky was filled with heavy mist, so most of the fascinate scenery was not visible, following a drizzle when we're on our way back. We're unable to reach for the car as the rain turn out to be more much heavier. without any alternative, coupled with the time we have to rush to the town, me and Ang haste out the rain to get hold of the car. We're completely soaked in the pouring rain, but that was a fun experience indeed, and that's bring my cold for the day after*chuckle*. Following that is the shopping session before precede back to one another's home. Delwyn bought a Versace perfume from the central town while the rest bought some liquor and chocolate from Hsin Ru, a friend who had offer better price for alcoholic beverage. That came to the end of the chapter, I wish all the best in their study in UK, live your dreams mate!

Unformalize Inheritance Paper

Its been awhile since my family had any discourse with that relative, no doubt that our relationship was not close since the death of my grandparent. Dispute takes place, misunderstanding filled the bond, the controversial never leaves amongst the 3rd and 4th sibling of my grandparent, the gap keep expanding, peace never come. Yesterday night I got a call from my mum, we had an hour conversation. From the conversation, I get to know that my mum was requested by my uncle to sign an approval for the property to be vested on his hand, since the will wrote by my grandpa was not fully complied with the rules of formalities, which is the topic I just did for my equity and trust class. So as the alternative, the lawyer needs the sibling to approve before the property can be distributed amongst my uncle as the will are no longer valid. The eldest uncle was not in the position on favoring them due to some conflict existed, so I was wondering that whether any alternative approach for solving the issue without having the sign of the siblings. Could the will possibly be validated? Well this morning I've asked Mr. Harmanhinder(our equity lecture) pertaining this issue, and his explanation was alternative choice is not possible, as the law doesn't recognize the will, the only method to persuade the court was the approval through sign by the siblings. But from what my mother has told me, the eldest uncle had inform her that his wife's brother, who is a senior lawyer mention that the 2 uncle was still able to claim for the property without the sign, but the procedure would be tedious. The lawyer graduated from King's College London and had been in collar of being Agung's legal assistant, as an experienced lawyer, definitely he would have know. So I start a bit research on the particular subject, admitted that my level of knowledge was insufficient to attempt acquainted in this respective area of law, I was unable to get any material regarding the above matter. Law on will is regulated under The Distribution Act 1997 which made some amendment out of previous Distribution Act 1958. I couldn't get any relevant reference after the inquiring and searching. Suppose if we're currently in UK position, the 9 Will Act 1837 would be applied, then it would be easy to solve the matter, where fundamentally the will only abide by formalities to take effect. I'll be glad if the matter can be resolve earlier, and the tie could be untangle.

Beginning of New Sem Break

Finally, from all the hectic and exhausted weeks filled with presentation and test, all of this has come to the end, well, for temporary that is. Nevertheless, I'd hereby officially declare the beginning of a new holiday season for August term, cheers! And for the initiation, me, Vincent and Wei Lun went on again to Midvalley GSC to enjoy the recent showing movies G.I.Joe and On His Majesty's Secret Service. we setting out from campus around 12 a.m, then take the KTM about 12:30 a.m. FYI, this is the worse experience I ever had on taking the Komuter. The air conditioner on our segment was not working after the 15 minutes of our trip, the whole compartment was ovenlike, we can feel every single sweat dropping off the chin. And not forgiving that I was wearing one of my favorite tee at that moment. It bother me till I even attempt to get off the Komuter and search for any alternate transportation. Nevertheless I was trained to withstand against heat over working under the sun with my dad. Its peculiar that how relief we are after got out from being "baked". Since it was weekend, so its doubtless on the numbers of people drop over for some shopping and nibbling. As a result, we have to take the unpleasantly long queue for the tickets. The 1st movie we took was On His Majesty's Secret Service, a Cantonese picture acted by Louis Koo. I don't find the movie as humorous as what I expected out from what my friend narrated, its filled with incongruous joke that doesn't make much sense. Follow up by accompany Vincent on his jean's hunt at the ROMP. And at about 5p.m, the movie that I have promised to watch with Uma for the last few days yet I have not perform it, G.I.Joe. I felt sorry for Uma but I was not able to make it that time due to some imperative task to be accomplish. The movie was gratifying, much better if it was to be compare to the 1st movie we took in the day. The action filled picture was marvelous, the movie 1st time caught my attention was during when I was watching transformer 2, through the pre-showing publishing of the advertisement and movie's trailer. And as I awaited, the top of my preference list, was worth for my 12 buck for the weekend. The movie are derived from the toy line and comic which was the origin of G.I.Joe that exist since 1964 as one of the 1st "action figure" after the universal Barbie Doll for girls. The plot was predictable, so I wouldn't be commend much on it. Nevertheless the effect was awesome, with the kungfu fighting and ninja slicing, no wonder that a non-grown up brat like me would stuck on *cackle*. Back of that, we proceed on accompany Vincent to shop for some souvenir for his friend back at his hometown, Sarawak that is. Its amazing how guys could spend on girl's accessories for more than 3 hours, we went every corner of Midvalley to search for most felicitous ornament, from rings to necklaces. Wei Lun and my role was to be the beauty advisor for Vincent who had dilemma in choosing what to gift and who to gift. And finally, he manage to found 2 cunning necklace from Giordano jewellery that cost him more than 100 bucks. That doesn't mean that I myself didn't spend a single cent. I've spot a series of rings come in 3 as a set which cost only about 40 bucks, the ring was neat and I was thinking that it would be a good idea if I bought it for my brothers. Vincent cut out my hesitation by handout a RM50 note. But why bother, it could be a limited ring that I would regret if I missed out. End up I spend the note and put myself in a worse debtor position. I called the them the "Ring of Brotherhood"! sounds pathetic right? Guess its better off I didn't nicknamed it.

Inquest on Teoh's Case

An inquest was held from 29 July to 12 August to investigate the mystery death of Teoh as stated on The Star last week. Teoh Beng Hock, as most of us would be particular, a political secretary of Seri Kembangan assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah, that was found death on roof of the five storey building next door to the Plaza Masalam where he was taken to in for questioning by the MACC(Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission) on 16th July at its 14th floor office. The matter of questioning or "interrogation" was over alleged misuse of funds by state executive councillors that merely worth not more than RM2k, and the questioning lasted for 8 hours before Teoh was being discharge and later was found death. Teoh's belonging including his mobile phone was kept away by the MACC before he was discharged even though he was just a witness. That's about all the brief of Teoh's case, now come back to the inquest, I agreed on what Mr. Aru, our tort lecturer told us during the class, that a Royal Commission must be appointed rather than conducting an inquest. Teoh's case, which is classified as "sudden death", would not be solve by merely bringing up the witness for question in the court. The 77 witness including 28 MACC officers are brought in by the police. Not that I was being biased, but many incidents happened on how the police are to be called as corrupted or crooked. The integrity for the cops has diminished. E.g the case of Kugan on early 2009, who died after interrogated in the police custody for car theft. So being rational, the Royal Commission can cover wider scope that are contrast to inquest limitation, this may well include the finding of circumstances surrounding Teoh's death, protocol, standard regulating procedure etc. MACC carried the name as an important institution must be questioned as this may clear their name conjointly. Royal Commission which consist of senior member with expertise are more likely to solve the matter in a highly-accountable and transparent manner. Furthermore, Royal Commission are not governed by the rules of criminal procedure and hence investigation can be done efficiently without intrusion. Lastly by allowing Royal Commission to preside over the matter, the public will be more assured and hence not losing their faith toward MACC. I would strongly exhort that Royal Commission be establish on Teoh's case.

PC Fair

Once more, the annual event where most gadget or IT enthusiast have been waiting for has come into the city, the PIKOM PC fair. The event was held from 31st July to 2nd of August, venue KLCC. While most think that its the most appropriate occasion to look out for gizmo, computer's part and accessories, the reality was otherwise, propaganda on the mark down of the price was just another financial strategy, and what matter concerned by most of the consumer would be the price, but the fact that PC Fair doesn't come with bargaining price, if it was to be compare with Low Yat Plaza, PC Fair is one of the method to clear the old stock available. Nevertheless, I still find the ramble was worth it. It wasn't surprise that nothing was necessary for me to spend on the day, still I've came across some cheap gadget so I've bought myself a new 8GB pendrive and Logitech USB hub which cost me around 100 bucks. I went there along with my hometown old pal Seek Yan, accompanied by his colleague Betty, its been awhile since the last time we have a reunion, and this trip was entirely unplanned, it was a coincidence I bump up to my other friend informing me that Seek Yan is going too. The place was huddled with people and I was infuriated by those boorish fella that doesn't even know how to queue up. The first thing that I take notice of is the booth selling Razer products, the price are equally the same selling in Low Yat Plaza. I was thrilled when I saw the new Dell Alienware M17x, one of the high-end spec laptop that you can find in this country, the laptop cost around around 8,700 to 10,000 bucks depend on the spec. The whole fair was divided into 8 to 10 halls, each section altered by devices and manufacture. First, we enter a chamber where PC guru is located, I got small goodie as a reward by accomplished to answer two simple question of the quiz, a notebook. The main purpose for this little attraction was to obtain the particular of people and consequently promote PC guru. And here comes the hall filled with all the multiplayer online games and of cause, the attractive show girls on the moves *aroused*. We get to take some picture with those chick, and to pay the price, we're asked to register for the particular online game. Then follow by the laptop section, where Seek Yan had a good time inquiring and seeking for the replacement of his lappy since his pre-owned lappy was bestowed to his brother that currently study for matriculation. And lastly, the incentive of Altec Lansing speaker. I get so upset since I can't effort any of it on the ground that I'm still in a debtor position*sob*. Before the leave, we dig ourself into some dessert and carry on with a movie titled "The Proposal", another hilarious picture of the month. And guess what, after that we're late for the KTM and having no alternative way but to share bed with Chen Tat back at Wangsa Maju*grin*.
